Good Emotional Health is often thought of as a sense of well-being coupled with confidence, resiliency, and motivation. However, human nature also employs other emotions such as anger, despair, distrust, fear and many others that lead us into negative feelings and a loss of self-esteem and empowerment. Often, these feelings are derived from identifiable sources such as illness, medications, relationships, work stress, or grief from a loss. Other feelings including depression, anxiety, paranoia, and a general sense of being out of balance are often harder to identify.

Recognizing and understanding your current emotional state is often the beginning of the mental health therapy process.
