Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine, also known as Eastern Medicine, focuses on the body as a holistic structure that must be in balance in order to obtain and maintain optimal health and wellness. Eastern or oriental medicine, has been practiced for thousands of years, and is used today as a form of complementary and alternative and integrative medicine.

This holistic healing method reasons that it is through all natural remedies, and alternative cures that the body is most effectively and sustainably healed. Similar to the principles held by practitioners of Naturopathy, Eastern Medicine purposes that the body, given the appropriate diet, exercise, and manual manipulation, is capable of keeping itself healthy and vibrant.

What does it encompass ?
Traditional Chinese Medicine employs many different holistic treatment techniques such as acupuncture therapy, acupressure, massage therapy, herbal medication, an all natural diet and nutrition, qigong, and meditation exercises in order to incorporate all body systems into the healing and health maintenance process.

How is balance created ?
Traditional Chinese Medicine seeks to harness the energy forces that cause fluctuations in the body’s balance and impair wellness. Qi (pronounced “chee”) is one of the principle energy forces that travel along the body’s energy channels or meridians, regulating body functions. Through the practice of Eastern Medicine, this force is harnessed to restore balance (yin and yang) and optimal physical, mental and emotional health.
