Styles for Taller Teen Bodies

Evaluate Your Length
Where exactly in your body does your height come from ? Do you have extra long legs ? Is it in your torso ? Or, maybe you are evenly proportioned, just stretched a little like a rubber band ? Finding where your own true height is located will help make selecting the best tall clothing styles much easier.

In the Legs. If your height is in your legs, then you can wear most anything in regular sizes except your bottoms. For pants, skirts and dresses, you will need to shop for long lengths or from specialty tall departments.

In some cases, you can also adjust the style to fit your length. For example, if you fall in love with a pair of jeans that aren’t available in size “long” you may still be able to wear them as Capri’s instead. If skirts and dresses are your thing, wear some of the mid-length styles like your own version of the mini and simply avoid true mini skirts altogether.

Long leg tips:
- Break up your tall length with a midline distraction. Add a belt, wear contrasting colors top and bottom, or choose outfits that hug more at your waist.
- Watch the height of your shoes. These days, even flip flops have some heel. But, in your case, sticking to the flatter shoes will help balance your height.

In the Torso. If your body is long and your legs are average, this can making shopping for pants a breeze. Where you will run into trouble is trying to find longer tops and sleeve lengths.

Consider utilizing layering tees, as they can help with the length dilemma. Simply find a few longer undershirts to add length to any other favorite tops you find. This will allow you some versatility when shopping. Enabling you to pick your beloved tops and not worry if they are long enough. Luckily, layering and even crop tops are still the trendy style, so you can’t go wrong here.

Additional long torso tips include:
- Balance out your long torso by creating length to your legs with empire waist dresses or tops.
- Sleeves can be tricky. Sticking to short sleeves will make life the easiest, except when winter’s chill hits. For those favorite tops with too short sleeves, add some interest to your wrists to “hide” the short length. Flashy bracelets or a cool watch can be a quick solution.
Evenly Proportionate. Although this sounds ideal, it can be especially hard when hunting for clothes. If your whole body is tall, then you will definitely need to use the tricks above and shop in selected tall teen clothing stores. Luckily, there are a few around.

Bathing your cuties baby

Bathing your baby becomes a special responsibility often enjoyed by a new parent. Always stay within arm's length of baby at all times. Do not take your eyes off baby.

A bath seat will give your child added support while in the bathtub, but it will not protect the child from injury or drowning. Keep the following tips in mind while using a bath seat or bath ring.

Bath seats and bath rings should only be used with children who are capable of sitting upright unassisted.

Collect all bathing materials (soap, shampoo, cloth, comb) before bringing the baby into the bathroom.

Place bathing materials within hands reach of where you will be bathing baby. Be sure the bottom of the tub is clean and free of any soap residue.

If the bath seat or bath ring has suction cups, make sure they adhere to the bottom of the tub. Pull up on the bath seat/bath ring to test.

Never use a bath seat on textured or non skid surfaces unless the manufacturer's instructions specifically state the seat is intended for such surfaces.

Place the bath seat in the tub so that baby cannot reach faucets or the spout.

Never lift the bath seat or ring with your baby in it as he or she could fall out.

After bathing, lift your child out of the seat or ring before removing it from the tub.

If bath seat or bath ring moves or tips while baby is in it, discontinue use.

Clothes tips to look slimmer

1. Choose clothing all in one color to give yourself a long, lean look.

2. Wear black. It gives a look that is especially slimming.

3. Try to avoid shapeless clothing. No one is fooled, and loose clothes often make you appear wider or heavier.

4. Avoid tight clothing that will emphasize your heavy areas.

5. Choose softly tailored pieces that define but don't constrain.

6. Steer clear of horizontal stripes, which make you appear wider, but consider vertical stripes, which make you look longer and leaner.

7. Wear blocks of color that draw the eye away from less than perfect areas. Wear a red shell or royal blue jacket, for example, to draw attention away from your legs.

8. Wear shoulder pads and wide necklines to balance wide hips.

9. Choose pants that have narrow or tapered legs to hide a large midsection. Flat front pants and side or back zippers will flatter your figure, while pockets, pleats and tight pants will only draw attention to your midsection.

High heels tips

When buying a pair of heels there are a number of things it is important to consider. The wrong pair of shoes can mean hours of pain and can make you look like you are unable to put one leg in front of the other.

Consider heel height.
The height you need is determined by a lot of factors. Are you buying the shoes to go with a pair of long jeans or dress pants ? If so, bring the pants with and try the shoes on with them. You need the bottom of the pant to not hit the floor when you walk but at the same time it can't sway at your ankles for 4-inch heels poking out.

If you are looking to wear heels with a skirt, dress shorts, or capris you will not need to worry about where the hem line sits. Still, heel height can mean the difference between hours of comfort and hours of pain. Try the shoes on and walk around the store. If they pinch, pull or tug at all put them back. Contrary to popular thinking shoes don't stretch enough to make them comfortable. Maybe a flat will mold to your foot but a high heel is less likely to do so. Also if you can't walk around normally in the store do not get the heels. Even with practice it is highly unlikely that you will be able to smooth out your walking enough to look normal and confident in the shoes. When you get home walk around for at least an hour in the shoes. This will let you further test the comfort of the heel height. If your calves or feet ache after just an hour take them back and keep looking.

Consider the platform.
Many high heels these days have a little platform on the front part of the shoe where your toes sit. Most people believe that since this adds even more height to the shoe it will increase your discomfort. But that's wrong. The platform is meant to give you the added height without the added angle of your foot. Additionally, the platform acts as a mini-cushion for your foot. If you are looking for a 3-inch heel or higher buy one with a platform.

Consider the grip.
High heels offer less contact with the ground as a flat does, as a result each step is a little more precarious. Shoes that have slick bottoms in the toe area can make walking, especially on slick, icy, or wet ground, very tricky. So as not to break your ankle, look for shoes that have some sort of gripping ability. Little indents or a rough surface will go a long way in anchoring you to the ground.

Consider the socks or stockings.
You need to try the heels on with the type of stockings you plan to wear. A thick sock is going to feel a lot different than a thin nylon. If you buy a heel when wearing socks, you could slip right out of them when walking in tights. Also some shoes look odd with certain color hosiery. Make sure the color you plan to wear most with the shoes looks good when paired together. Some stores will offer you heel grippers to make the shoe fit a little better. If they are just slightly too big, or if you have one foot larger than the other, ask a sales associate for a heel gripper. This can allow the easy transistion from socks to nylons if you want the heels to be multi-purpose.

Consider color and style.
This goes without saying. Usually you'll have a specific outfit in mind when shopping, but if you are looking for that one pair of classic heels style and color are very important. For the classic heel stay away from things that are super trendy in either hue or design. You might be better off with a basic black, brown, or blue depending upon your wardrobe. If you want something a little more funky try for a silver or gold which tend to go with most outfits and add just the right amount of flair.

Apply Eyeliner

1. Liquid eyeliner should only be used above the top lashes. It is best to use a pencil or eyeshadow under the lower lashes. For a more dramatic look, use a colored kohl pencil above and below lashes and follow with a black liquid liner on the top. It will make your lashes appear darker and will stay on all day. A dark eye-liner highlights the shape of your eyes and deepens the look. Softly line with eyeliner pencil, draw a thin line along lashes next to roots.

For a dramatic look, lightly dot color along the lower lashes. For softness, line can be smudged with fingertip or Q-tip.

2. Eyeliner should be applied close to the base of the eyelashes. Products vary from cake to liquid liner to pencil. Practice makes perfect in achieving a fine line. Hold your head back and look down into the mirror. The eyelid will be tight and it will be easier to apply the liner. Smudge if necessary.

3. Don´t apply eyeliner in a thick line. It looks harsh and makes the eye appear heavy and tired. Get out of the 60´s and instead use a fine line. If you have trouble, use a brush to blend and smooth it out.

4. By using a line under the lower lashes gives the illusion of making the eyes appear larger. Instead of using a pencil, try using a small makeup brush with a dark eyeshadow. Apply into the lashes to make the lashes appear darker. Below this line apply a highlighter eyeshadow (in white, beige or yellow) in a fine line with a cleansed small brush. This will brighten the eye area.

5. There are pencil eyeliners, liquid eyeliner, and cake eyeliners. Pencil liners can be used above top lashes and under lower lashes. Liquid liners should only be used on the top lid. Cake eyeliners are used with water and can be used both top and bottom.

6. A smoky violet pencil looks best for someone with green eyes. On the color wheel, green and violet are opposite, and so they look well together. Also, look at nature when deciding on a color palette. Green, burnt orange and beige can be found in a field of autumn colors.

7. If you want to use the same liner pencil for eyes and lips I would recommend using an eyeliner pencil. Then you know this is safe for the eyes. Choose a shade that is a red-brown or a plum-brown. Then it will compliment your lipstick.

8. A liquid eyeliner or a cake eyeliner that you use with a fine brush will stay on the best. If you don´t feel adept at using these, pencils work well also. Pencils can be smudged for a subtle look. Always hold your head back, look down into the mirror, and apply your eyeliner. This will keep your eyelid skin tight and you can make a smooth line.

Facial and Skin Care

Daily skin and facial care is much more effective in making us look beautiful than any cosmetics in the world. Here we are going to discuss some of the tips and tricks that we can use to make us look younger and more beautiful without spending too much of extra time and money:

- Get a quick facial at home by splashing your face with lots of warm water and then massaging it with olive oil to moisturize your skin. Use a half-teaspoon of sugar for scrubbing your face and keep rubbing it until it melts away. Wipe off your face with a warm, wet cloth.

-Use the toning mixture of equal parts of water and vinegar and dissolve few aspirins in it twice a day to counter any aging signs in your face. Vinegar flakes off dead skin cells while aspirin is a superb anti-acne product and is also effective on deep acne spots. However, it tends to make skin thinner like store bought toner and so sun block with at least SPF 15 should be used essentially everyday.

- Wash your face several times a day and wipe off with a clean cloth to keep acne off the oily skin.

- If your eyes look puffy or swollen, wash your face and cover your eyes with sliced potatoes or cucumbers for a few minutes. This is really effective in the morning.

- Olive oil works well as face and eye makeup remover.

- Clean you nails with white vinegar before applying nail polish for a smoother finish and make it last longer.

- Olive oil mixed with melted beeswax is a great lip balm.

Home remedies for under eye Bags

Nobody looks good with puffy bags under their eyes, but how to get rid of them ? Everyone’s got their magic potions, but this is the easiest remedy I’ve ever run across, and it really works!

I was so surprised by the single kitchen ingredient that this how to calls for it’s not a cucumber, and you’re sure to have one on hand. Find out the secret !

Raw potato slices will help tighten baggy, puffy eyes. All you need is a potato and a knife or slicer !

To Make:

1. Slice 1/4 potato to fit over your eyes.
2. Cut 2 slices or, if you prefer, 5 to 10 very thin slices, several for each eye. Either method works.

To Use:

1. Spritz eye area with water.
2. Lying down, place the potato slices on your eyelids and leave in place for at least 10 minutes for best results.

Maximizing your growth cycle

The right vitamins and minerals play a major role in keeping your hair healthy. Any nutritional deficiencies can lead to thinning hair or even total baldness.

It is a well known fact that an under active thyroid can result in frizzy or brittle hair while an overactive thyroid turn hair greasy and limp.

The bottom line to this thread is that your hair ultimately reflects the overall condition of your body. If your body is healthy and well nourished, your hair will be your shining glory.

If you are having any health problems or suffering from any nutritional deficiencies, your hair may stop growing or show damage.

If your body is in good health, you can maximize your genetic growth cycle through taking the proper blend of amino acids and B-vitamins.

It is also important to include B-6, biotin, Inositol and folic acid in the supplemental program. It has been found that certain minerals including magnesium, sulfur, silica and zinc are also very important toward maintaining healthy hair.

Beta carotene is also essential to hair growth. This is because it is converted to vitamin A as the body needs it, helps maintain normal growth and bone development, protective sheathing around nerve fibers, as well as promoting healthy skin, hair and nails.

Beta carotene is found in green and yellow vegetables and fruits.

Straight your own hair

Curls go in and out of style all the time, but straight hair has always been present on the scene, and will probably continue to be so forever. However, not all women have straight hair and, sometimes, getting it can be a real pain not to mention the damage we can do to it if we don’t know what to do. what can be a tricky situation a few tips to get the straight hair we’ve always wanted, right in the comfort of our home.

First off, we have to bear in mind that, if straight hair is what we want, we must have lots of patience and, above all, time to spare to get the perfect results. Stylists tell us that we should also know just the type of hair we have, so as to be able to best appreciate the methods we’ll be using to make it straight. Next up, it’s time for a wash: to get fabulous, straight hair, we must shampoo and condition our locks to avoid the oily, greasy, yucky look to the best of our abilities.

Once the washing part is taken care of, we must partially blow dry the hair, using a wide-toothed comb to get rid of all the tangles, if any. When the hair is almost dry, stylists tell us to apply volumizing products, like mousse or volumizing tonic, which will prevent the hair from going limp and will keep the do in place for longer. Up next, with a big, round brush in hand, we must blow dry the hair completely. With swipes going from underneath from roots to tips, while the blow drier follows the movement of the brush and, at the same time, blows over the lock of hair we’re combing, this operation must be performed until all hair is dry.

Only then are we to take the iron to flat iron the hair. Hairstylists can never stress hard enough that, no matter the type of iron we have, or the brand, we should never use it when the hair is moist because, in time, this will have the most unpleasant effects. Hair should be ironed only when completely dry: part it in manageable locks, iron from roots to tips and comb thoroughly after each lock. Once this is also over with, the last step is to apply a spray gloss or a serum to keep the do in place. Moreover, taking the serum with us wherever we may go would also be a great idea, as it would come very in handy for us to retouch our hairdo throughout the day.

Nevertheless, if all this fails, we should not lose hope: there is always the option of going to a beauty parlor and having a professional give us natural looking straight hair that will last for about half a year.

Coconut Oil For Hair

The best way to apply coconut oil to your hair is immediately after a shower or bath, when the hair is still wet. It should not still be dripping wet, but more than slightly damp. It doesn't matter whether the coconut oil is liquid or solid (pure coconut oil solidifies at less than 76 degrees F, but it's still perfectly good).

Take a small amount (about a half teaspoon for long hair, less for shorter hair) and put it in your palm. Rub your hands together and begin the application at the ends of your wet hair, using your oily fingers to distribute it evenly and lightly.

The trick is to use just enough so that the oil will penetrate the hair, without leaving an oily or greasy look. Use more at the ends, less in the middle and very little, if any at the roots.

Don’t use any oil near the roots if you want to avoid the greasy look.

Although the molecular structure of coconut oil is perfect for penetrating inside the hair shaft, and works beautifully with the natural hair proteins, its still easy to go overboard with the application, and end up with oily hair.

If you’ve applied enough to make the hair look oily, the only way to remove it is to re-wash the hair.

Coconut oil is also a great treatment for dandruff.
Whether the flakes are caused by dry scalp, or a fungal/yeast condition like seborrheic dermatitis, coconut oil will help, because it's a great moisturizer, and it's anti-fungal. Again, do scalp treatments when you don't have to go out in public, try overnight treatments (protect your pillow with a plastic bag covered with an old towel). The first time you try coconut oil for hair conditioning, pick a day when you can hang out at home.

It can take a bit of experimentation until you find the right dose for your particular hair, and the important thing is to be able to leave the oil in your hair once you have applied it.

Coconut oil is a natural substance, one that can’t be patented or trademarked, which means that no one company can get an edge over someone else marketing the same thing. That’s why there are hundreds of different products out there, all with their special formula, their patented ingredient, etc.

The truth is, you don’t really need any of that stuff. Though it is nice to go to a good salon now and then for a treat, or to spend a little fun money on a special product now and then.

When you're in the mood to do things for yourself, try using pure coconut oil for your hair conditioning, skin moisturizing, cooking and, of course, for its therapeutic uses for candida as well.

Using coconut oil for hair conditioner is one of my favorite discoveries for the many, many uses of this amazing oil.

Healthy Heat Protection

When you straighten your hair with your flat iron, do you ever think about the damage you may be causing ? Yep, you should. There are a variety of healthy heat protectants on the beauty market to help take care of your hair and protect it from heat damage while you straighten (or use any heat styling appliance). Think about it, if you are using a flat iron that goes up to 400+ degrees don't you think you might want to protect your locks? Hair gets damaged on its own, it's best not to add to it by literally frying it every day with a flat iron. There are a few great protectants that buffer the excessive heat from flat irons (and curling irons, blow dryers, pressing combs, and hot rollers!) while enhancing the effectiveness of each appliance.

It's best to choose a protectant that suits your comfort level. Spray, serum, lotion, gel? Hmmm... which is best ? All of them promise to protect your hair, and technically of them will just by adding that layer of coating between your hair and the super hot temperature of your flat iron. When choosing a heat protectant, look for ones that are lightweight, heat-activated, and packed with healthy ingredients. Here are just a few of my top thermal protecting picks:

Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide
Is it ok to start this review with wow ? This protective smoother from Redken is a leave-in serum that provides heat-safe control and tames even the frizziest frizz. If you have uncooperative, unruly, unmanageable hair, you must, must, must try Redken's Smooth Down Heat Glide. Packed with healthy ingredients like nourishing macadamia oil, and smoothing candelilla wax, your hair will behave like it never gave you a minute's trouble. Using 'interbond' conditioning technology, Smooth Down promises mega smoothing, intense shine and a long-lasting frizz free results. This product delivers. Big time.

FHI Heat Hot Sauce
Of course if you want super-smooth hair you should protect it from the potential drying and damage from flat irons, but why not repair it at the same time? FHI Heat Hot Sauce is different than silicone protectants…it’s moisture-based. This means that when it is heated by your flat iron it actually penetrates into the core of the hair to reconstruct and deeply condition the hair from the inside out. With regular use dry, damaged hair will be restored. Must be those heat-activated jojoba crystals ! Plus: You know I love great packaging and this little hot sauce inspired bottle is awesome.

GHD Thermal Protecting Spray
This lightweight, humidity resistant mist is formulated with exclusive UVA protection that provide thermal protection to your hair from heat styling damage, while moisturizing from roots to ends, and protecting it from the sun's harmful rays. It promises to instantly provide a brilliant shine, repair split ends, and eliminate frizz. The end result is a luminous, glossy finish without buildup. Saving my hair from damage AND leaving my hair soft, shiny, and smooth at the same time? You really can't beat this one. Plus, I like to spray products on wet hair. The less you touch wet hair with your hands the better. Your hair is very vulnerable when it's wet, so a couple of spritzes will ensure a nice even coating.

Bonus points: It comes in three varieties to target your specific styling needs - normal to fine hair, dry/coarse hair, and weak/damaged hair. Can't decide ? If you are using a flat iron to create a straight style, pick normal to fine.

CHI Silk Infusion
Another Silk based product, CHI Silk Infusion doesn't disappoint! Created by the makers of the best-selling flat irons, those guys really know what they are doing over there at CHI headquarters. Developed to work specifically with the CHI flat irons, this restructuring complex is a rich leave-in treatment enriched with pure silk, wheat, and soy proteins that penetrate and strengthen your hair while you straighten. CHI Silk Infusion works wonders, smells great and makes your hair look like you just came back from the salon. If you ever wonder how the pro's do it, now you know. Plus, the added manageability and softness will leave you in healthy hair heaven !

L’anza Strait-Line Thermal Defense Heat Styler
This is one of our most popular heat stylers, and one you’ve probably never heard of before. L’anza’s lightweight spray-in treatment smoothes strands with a "Thermal Defense" barrier that protects hair from the excessive heat of flat irons, curling irons, hair dryers, hot rollers …everything. Its silky smooth formula provides gentle slip-through the hair for effortless glides down the hair section while styling. It truly lives up to its name; straight styles are super-easy with L’anza Strait-line. Though you may not be too familiar with this brand, people rave about how great it is it’s a best-seller!

Bonus points: This thermal protectant also defends hair from the sun’s harmful UV rays, which can cause additional dryness and damage to delicate hair strands.

So go ahead and fire up your flat iron, just make sure to protect your hair first. These were just some of my favorites, but there are plenty on the market so you'll be sure to find one that's best for you!

Creating full eyelashes

Anyone can have full eyelashes with these simple tips. Eyelashes protect our eyes from dust and debris; however, eyelashes also serve a cosmetic purpose as well. Full eyelashes can help your eye makeup really stand out, making your eyes look vibrant. Not everyone is born with thick eyelashes, but thanks to mascara and a few simple tips, anyone can achieve full eyelashes.

Choosing Mascara
Selecting the right mascara is the first step for creating full eyelashes. Mascara like Lash Extreme Mascara from Aloette is your best ally, because the formula helps hydrate eyelashes and the wand serves to fully cover each eyelash.

Application
When applying mascara to your eyelashes, it’s easy to miss the lashes at the corners of the eyes. To make sure you have your eyelashes fully covered, try using a mascara wand that is short and thin. If you want to create a thicker look for your eyelashes, apply a second coat of mascara before the first coat dries.

Avoid Clumping & Smudging
To help avoid dried clumps from forming on eyelashes, try applying the mascara to the base of the lashes using your mascara wand. Afterwards, carefully brush the mascara to the ends of the lashes with a lash comb or dab excess mascara lightly with a tissue. Prevent mascara from smudging by applying a base powder on your lids first before putting mascara on eyelashes.

Keep It Clean
Prevent your eyes from getting irritated and get the most from your mascara by always keeping the mascara wand clean. Try putting some makeup remover on your mascara wand to wash off any dried debris, or rinse it with some warm water. Make sure to let the wand dry first before putting it back or using it again.

Short Hairstyles

Bob Haircut
The bob hairstyle never goes out of fashion. It epitomizes class and chic. You only need to look at such style icons as Coco Chanel who always wore a bob to understand why so many women love this hairstyle. The short bob hairstyle is a great choice for many women. One of the things that is imperative for a short bob hairstyle is that it is cut immaculately and precisely.

A short bob hairstyle can be cut at even lengths or can be cut at an angle. The style that you choose should depend on the shape of your face. If you have a thin face a short bob hairstyle with an even cut is best for you. If however, you have a round face then it is often best if the bob is cut at an angle. Though your stylist can be blamed, up to certain extent, for such photos, the main culprit is the person who chose a picture of short hair style that does not compliment his/her hair texture and face shape.

Short Choppy

Chin Length Short Hairstyles
Short chin length hairstyles that are cut in an angle to frame the face are a very popular choice. They often include some form of bangs, usually side swept or fringe.

This short hairstyle tends to be a great option for people who fine, straight hair because it may become too unruly for people with hair that is naturally thick and curly.

This option tends to work the best for people who have straight or wavy hair. These hairstyles are very easy to care for and look great straight. If you want a chin length short hairstyle, this is definitely one to consider if you want a sleek, sophisticated look.

When you style your short hair style with a Sedu flat iron, this is referred to as a Sedu short hair style. The most important element of good short hairstyles for round faces is the cut. The right length is crucial in order to avoid making round faces look rounder. Hair extensions tips

There is no doubt that long, flowing hair is in, but many people who desire to have long hair are unable to achieve the right look no matter how long they let their hair grow. For this reason, many turn to hair extensions to get that look they’ve always dreamed of. Whether their hair is sparse and thin or ethnic and curly, many have found that they can have long hair through hair extension.

There are two major types of hair extension: strands and wefts. Strands use techniques that apply 20 to 50 strands of synthetic or natural hair to your own hair by weaving, heat fusing, gluing, clamping, or using waxes and polymers. Hair extension wefts, on the other hand, use wefts of hair that are sewn into a small braid of your own hair that has been put across your scalp for the purpose of hair extension.

With both types of hair extension you can achieve dramatic results. You can thicken and lengthen your hair instantly. And the hair extensions can be matched up perfectly to your own hair. With hair extensions, you shampoo, style and do everything that you would normally do to your own hair. If you want to change colors, you can. If you want to perm, you can. (There may be some restrictions with certain types of synthetic hair extension).

As with all salon services, there is some upkeep associated with hair extensions. The cost and frequency of your upkeep appointments will depend largely on what type of extensions that you purchase. The amount of damage to your natural hair and longevity of your hair extension will also be determined by which type of hair extensions you choose.

Strands. This type of hair extension causes the most damage to your natural hair because the technique always involves attaching the extensions to your natural hair shaft by chemical means. As you can imagine by the name of some of the application methods used such as heat fusing and gluing, the damage can be substantial. While the strand hair extension does not cost as much as other procedures, there is a good deal of upkeep. These hair extensions normally have to be completely re done every few months. And because these types of extensions cause so much damage to your hair shaft, they are not a good option for allowing your natural hair to grow out while you wear the extensions.

Wefts. Weft hair extensions are by far the best types of hair extensions. The weft itself looks like a curtain of hair attached together at the top and free flowing at the bottom. These hair extensions are attached to your head by sewing them into a tiny braid made out of your own hair. The effects achieved with this technique are very natural and no one can see the braids or wefts of hair unless you show them. Since hair growth will push your braids off of your scalp, in order to keep this type of hair extension looking fresh, you need to return to your stylist every 6 to 8 weeks to have your wefts taken out and put back in close against your scalp.

So, if you always wanted long hair but have never been able to accomplish it, maybe hair extensions are just what you need. But be sure to weigh all of your options and the costs carefully before deciding to get hair extensions.

Deodorant and breast cancer

A link has been found between aluminium in deodorants and cancer, according to British scientists. Tests found that women who used deodorants had deposits of aluminium in their outer breasts. The samples were taken from women who had undergone a mastectomy for breast cancer.

Aluminium is not normally found in the human body and scientists are reasonably convinced the presence of the metal means it is being absorbed from anti-perspirant sprays or roll ons. Most deodorants contain aluminium salts, because the metal is effective at stopping skin sweating.

Deodorants may be combined with antiperspirants classified as drugs by the FDA which attempt to stop or significantly reduce perspiration and thus reduce the moist climate in which bacteria thrive. Aluminium chloride, aluminium chlorohydrate, and aluminium-zirconium compounds, most notably Aluminium zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly and Aluminium zirconium trichlorohydrex gly, are the most widely used antiperspirants. Aluminium-based complexes react with the electrolytes in the sweat to form a gel plug in the duct of the sweat gland. The plugs prevent the gland from excreting liquid and are removed over time by the natural sloughing of the skin. The blockage of a large number of sweat glands reduces the amount of sweat produced in the underarms, though this may vary from person to person.

A popular alternative to modern commercial deodorants is ammonium alum, which is a common type of alum sold in crystal form. It has been used as a deodorant throughout history in some countries.

Deodorants and antiperspirants come in many forms. What is commonly used varies in different countries. In Europe, aerosol sprays are popular, as are cream and roll on forms. In the United States, solid or gel forms are dominant.

Eye Makeup Tips

Your eye makeup can really define your "look". Use it sparingly to create modest, yet beautiful eyes for the work day, and apply it heavier for dramatic, sexy eyes that are perfect for an evening out on the town.

Whether you're preparing for day or night, it's a good idea to begin by applying an eye shadow primer base to your lids to help your eye makeup look fresh longer

Creating Wide Set Eyes
Sexy EyesTo accentuate wide set eyes or to give the illusion of more distance between close set eyes, try following these eye makeup tips:

- Apply a light to medium shade of eye shadow to your entire lid area.
- Then, using a darker, complimentary color, apply this shade to the outer third of your main lid area, extending slightly beyond the outer corner of your eye.
- Use your finger tip to blend the darker color and soften the edges
- Add pencil liner, slightly widening the line at the outer edges of the eyes.
- Brush mascara onto the tips of the lashes near the inner corners, and on the full length of the lashes near the outer edges.

Creating Closer Eyes
If you feel your eyes are set a bit too wide apart, you can give them the illusion of being closer.

- Use a light to medium shade of eye shadow on your main lid area.
- Apply a slightly darker, but complimentary shade of shadow just in the inner corner of your lids, and then draw it out in a fine line along your lid crease, just to the outer corners of your eyes and blend slightly. The darker shade adds a bit of depth, and tends to draw focus, creating the illusion that your eyes are closer than they actually are.
- Add liner and mascara if you wish.

Creating Big, Bold Eyes
To really make your eyes "pop", try these eye makeup tips:

- Apply a light shade of shadow just below your brow line for a highlight effect.
- Apply a medium shade of shadow to your main lid.
- Apply a line of darker shadow along the crease of your lid to the outer edge, then soften and blend it with your fingertip.
- Apply eye liner along the length of your upper lid, just above your lash line. Then repeat just beneath the lash line on your lower lid, meeting the upper line at the outer corners of your eyes. If you use a liner pencil, you may want to use your finger to gently smudge the liner for a smokier look.

Softening Prominent Eyes
If you feel your eyes are too prominent, you can darken the lids to create the illusion of deeper set eyes.

- Apply a medium shade of shadow to the lids and skip highlighting the brow line.
- Use a darker shade of shadow or pencil liner to draw a line along the lash line of your top lids, then apply mascara to your lashes

Hair Growing Tips

Some hair loss experts have discovered that people have excellent hair growing results by following the Zone Diet, which is low in fat. Many other hair care experts recommend the Zone Diet as very helpful for hair care concerns.

Here are some other hair growing tips :

1. Eliminate or cut back on smoking, caffeine and carbonated sodas which weaken the body and block maximum hair growing potential.
2. Eat a healthy diet. Avoid foods that are high in sugar or fat.
3. Treat your hair like a piece of fine old lace. Treat it carefully avoiding any unnecessary brushing, combing or handling.
4. Avoid use of hot water, hot blow dryers or other hair care tools that may stress the hair.
5. Have a weekly scalp massage to provide stimulation to the hair follicles.
6. Do a series of ongoing hot oil treatments to protect the hair's shaft.
7. Have regular trims to eliminate split ends and allow the hair to look and feel healthier.
8. Get plenty of rest and sleep to allow your body to grow hair.

Natural way to strip hair color

When adding color to your hair, professionally at a salon, or at home, you are taking a huge risk of not liking the color and also of doing more damage to the health of your hair. Even professional hair-colorists cannot guarantee that the shade of color you want will come out as you imagine. It’s much more likely to happen if you are doing it yourself (or having a friend apply the color) at home, and are inexperienced. If you’ve had your hair dyed professionally and do not like it, it is not such a good idea to return to the person who colored it initially. Instead, call around to different salons and inquire about what can be done to fix the color in the most natural way possible.

If you decide to let a professional try to remove the unwanted color, they will apply a color remover which will not take all of the color out. Initially, it will only fade it slightly. This process might damage your hair even further and create a brassy look, resulting in aving to dye it yet again. You can buy over the counter color removers at beauty supply stores, but it is probably best left to the professionals, especially if you are not quite sure of how to use them. The good news is that if you’ve used a semi-permanent hair color, the color will eventually wash out with regular shampooing. However, if you’ve used a permanent hair color or a product with bleach in it, it’s best to go to a professional to strip, or fade, the color as much as possible.

When deciding to try to remove the color yourself, here are some “natural” tips for removing, or fading, unwanted and undesired hair color.

When shampooing your hair, be sure to use hot water, it will speed up the process of hair color loss. By doing this, the cuticles of the hair will be opened, allowing color to be released.

Applying hot extra virgin olive oil, or store bought hot oil treatments will help to strip the color treatment, because of the high acidic ingredients.

Use shampoos like Prell or an intense volumizing, clarifying or oil-reducing shampoo, which will eventually fade the hair color.

Wash your hair with liquid dish detergent, like Dawn, to fade the color. However, it is very important to use a good, deep conditioner every time after washing with harsh detergents like these.

After a bad hair-coloring, it is important to try to remove it as soon as possible. The sooner it is stripped the better, as the color will set in as time goes on. It becomes practically impossible to strip the color if you’ve used a permanent color after just a few days of coloring. The safest, non-damaging way to get rid of unwanted color, is to simply let your hair grow out, or to subtly disguise the color in ways like getting a hair cut or styling your hair in a ponytail, barrettes, or wearing a hat (if at all feasible).

When deciding to strip the hair color from your hair, keep in mind that the procedures used, professionally or naturally, will be doing a lot of damage to already damaged hair. The color is not guaranteed to be totally removed from your hair, especially if it is a dark, permanent color. The suggestions that are provided here might help to fade the color, but is not guaranteed in any way. Unfortunately, sometimes trying to reverse hair color may even make the problem worse. Bottom line see a professional.

Allergic to the Nickel

If you have problems with a skin rash, redness, swelling, itching or burning in areas where you are wearing jewelry, you may have a nickel allergy. Nickel is commonly used in most jewelry, since it's cheap and strong, but around 15% of the population is allergic to nickel. If you've recently gotten your ears or body pierced and are experiencing allergic symptoms, you may have become sensitized to the metal your jewelry contains. White gold and other gold that is less that 14 carats can bring on a reaction, since white gold is made with nickel and other forms of gold contain some amount of nickel as a hardening agent. Sterling silver is plated with nickel, which stays shiny and bright when silver might tarnish, and so is frequently used in silver jewelry.

Causes and Symptoms of Nickel Allergies
If you're wondering about the cause of nickel allergies, keep on wondering. Some people never develop sensitivity, but those who do may find symptoms appearing up to ten days after their exposure to the allergen. After you've experienced your first reaction, you will have become sensitized to the nickel and will react to it in 24-48 hours forever after. If you have an especially ferocious reaction, you may find yourself at the dermatologist some doctors prescribe cortisone cream to alleviate skin related allergy symptoms. But once you've determined that it's the nickel that's causing problems, it's better not to get prescription creams they have side effects. Just stop wearing the offending jewelry.

Getting a Rash From Your Jewelry ?
Many people find that certain jewelry leaves them with a red, itchy rash. This is typically due to a reaction to the nickel that is used as a hardener for other metals. With the popularity of piercings and costume jewelry, this can be a huge problem for some. Careful consideration of the materials and metals that are used in your jewelry can often avoid the problem entirely. Better metals typically cause far fewer reactions. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford pure gold for their “ornaments!” Sterling silver jewelry is one type of jewelry that is affordable, beautiful, and nickel-free. Sterling silver will not cause you to have that nickel reaction or rash, allowing you to wear the jewelry longer or more often. While some people complain that silver will tarnish, a quality piece of jewelry will require only occasional polishing to stay beautiful and shiny!

How to avoid nickel allergic reactions
What to do? There aren't any vaccinations: your best bet is to avoid nickel. If you have a recent piercing, making sure to use only stainless steel posts, and once the symptoms are gone, pay strict attention to the kind of jewelry you're buying. Replace your jewelry with pieces guaranteed to be nickel free; remember, you can suffer allergy symptoms from rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, belts or body jewelry. 18 carat gold should be all right, platinum is also known as hypoallergenic. Nickel free or alloy free white gold is made with palladium, a type of platinum, which costs more that the white gold made with nickel.

Nickel-free jewelry does exist for allergy sufferers
The down side of having a nickel allergy is that nickel free jewelry often costs more, making you more difficult to shop for. If you usually shop in fine jewelry stores, you probably won't have a problem, but if like many of us, you buy your earrings in drugstores or kiosks, you have to pay special attention to make sure you get items labeled as hypoallergenic or nickel free. Stainless steel earrings and other piercing items are available in a wide range of styles, and they're inexpensive.

If you have a piece of jewelry that causes you allergy problems but you can't bear to part with it, you can try coating the whole piece in a couple of coats clear fingernail polish. Some people find that the polish prevents contact to the extent that they don't suffer the allergy others have to give up the jewelry or endure swelling, itching and burning all of which make wearing jewelry somewhat pointless, since your skin will look so awful that people won't be able to truly admire the sexy new studs in your ears, lips, belly or tongue.
